Happy Birthday DAD!

Happy Birthday to the Greatest Dad in the World! I took the day off from work on Thursday for my dad's birthday since Shalene and her family are here in town visiting. We went to Angel Miracle Park and had lunch and then went down to the Butterfly Muesem. It was lots of fun. The weather couldn't have been better

The Canning Family! Chris, Alaina, Jonny, Shalene and Cody

It was lots of fun chasing Shalene's kids around the park and swinging them. It actually was really good weather for houston too.
I'll have more pictures of the park soon. Cody took some really cute ones.

Wedding Cake

Susannah asked me to make her wedding cake. I'm a little nervous because the cake is the biggest I've ever made and I've never made a tiered cake before. I had to do a test run of the cake before the actual day so I would have time to work out some trouble spots and to make sure I could actually make it. I made the middle layer first with the frosting that Susannah really likes. HAHA it looked horrible the frosting isn't the best for putting fondant on. So then I made some for the bottom layer and used buttercream frosting. MUCH BETTER!

She is using real floweres that are green and purple, but we had to see what it looked like with some flowers on it. I like the colors.
I like it even better with the purple ribbon on it. As you can tell I didn't finish decorating the top layer. It's not real cake and i only needed to see what it would look like from one view.

Just a few minor things to fix and it will be a cool cake! I'm way excited. Anyone what to eat some cake? We have plenty.

Happy Birthday Lisa!

Allison came into town for Mother's Day so I we had to get together and celebrate Lisa turning 30. I had fun making a cake and decorting it using fondante. It was tons of fun to see both Lisa and Allison. We went and had dinner at Los Cucos and then came back and turned on a movie and talked the whole way through it. It's what we always do. We have tons to catch up on.

Lisa playing Mr. Wilson.

Look at all those lights! WOW!! :) We didn't even set off the smoke alarm.

This is the first time I've ever tried using fondant. Happy Birthday Lisa! I hope its a great year.

Garden Time!

We have had lots of rain lately and I think it is getting to my tomatoe plant. I was afraid that the tomatoes wouldn't ripen, but they have. The poor plant is gone though.
The other plants have lots of tomoatoess on them.
Make me really sad. It wa the first one to have tomatoes on it and I was so excited. Then I came home one day and it looked like this. At least I get a few rewards off of it.

First tomatoe this year.

Here is everything I picked today. I hadn't been out to look at it in a while since I've had tons of school work. I think that is the most normal looking strawberry we've had in two years. To much fun. I'm way excited. Gardens are awesome!
