Kate Leon Washburn

Last Saturday I had to chance to go to my cousins Baby blessing. Daciana and Mark Washburn welcomed Kate Leon on June 14,2009. Daciana and I grew up together in Midland, went to the same elementary school and drove our parents crazy. We would never tell them what house we were going to after school. So one of our parents would always worry when we didn't come home. I was super excited when they moved to the Woodlands just 45 minutes from me.

I love her dress! She is so tiny, but very beautiful.

What a great family! She's very blessed to have wonderful parents.

The joy of having family close. This is the Bushman side of the family that was able to make it.
Diona, Delisa, My mom Me, my dad, Aunt darla and Uncle Darrell(Daciana's parents) Kate, Daciana, Mark, Our cousin Eric and his family (Cecily, Lauren, Brandt and Wendy)
They blessed Kate in their home because Daciana's parents are leaving on a mission soon and needed to get back to Midland to finish up last minute things.

Tagged

I was tagged by my cousin Andrea to name six things that are unimportant that make me happy. Well I have to think about this only six.
1. Cake pans...ok anything to do with cakes. I love it all. I love making them, decorating them, buying the newest little gadget. Ex. Cake Release! Ever tried it. that stuff is amazing. Your cake won't stick at all to the pan. That stuff is amazing. It's found in the cake decorating isle at Walmart. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! then I love to watch peoples faces as they see the cakes. That makes me estremely happy too.
2.When you wash your bed sheets and then take a shower right before you climb into bed. It's like being doubly clean. LOVE IT.
3. Biking 20 miles- feels great once I'm done especially if I biked it faster than the first time.
4. My garden and watching it grow. Picking the tomatoes off of it and eating them all (ok and giving some away. Let's face it there were tons this year) Actually I have to check on my garden every day when I come home from work.
5. Parking my car in a garage made me extremely happy tonight. I didn't have to run from the front door to turn off the alarm.
6. Ok I'll admit it.... Getting homework done before my classmate gets hers done. She always seems to be so far a head of me.

THE CAKE!!!!!!

Here it is in more views then you could possibly want. I love it though. It took 6 hours to bake all the cakes 5 hours for me to get the frosting and fondant on. It's my first one so hopefully next time won't take as long. I had a friend help arrange the flowers since I'm not very good at that part of decoratin.

Shanna helped out tons in taking the cake to the reception and then staying and running back and forth to the car in cleaning things up. THANKS SHANNA.

The final touches!

Ribbon can cover up a lot of mistakes.

I'M DONE!!! Happy day! Lets cut it now.

Yeah for the Happy Couple!

Girl Fun!

My sisters are all in town for the weekend so we decided to have some picture fun. Although I must say the pictures are not complete without my sister in law Dadra.

Our nieces and nephews can't tell us apart. One day Shanna was getting ready and Alaina called Shanna, "Jen". She tried to explain that she was not Jen, but aunt Shanna. Alaina went and told her mom that Aunt Jen was saying she was Aunt Shanna, but that Alaina knew she was just teasing.
A little silly.- Here we are in reverse order of age.

Alicia wanted to know if Sue could make it so she didn't look pregnant in these pictures. I think Shalene gave it away. What I really love about this picture is my mom's smile. It captured one of my favorite smiles perfectly.

Sue took these for us out in our backyard.
