Darrell Call Family Reunion

This year Jason and Dadra hosted our family Reunion in Maryland. Mom, Dad and I drove up. We made several fun stops on the way. We stayed the night In Tennessee and went to Ruby Falls. It's a 40 foot under ground waterfall. It was a lot of fun. Then we stopped in Virgina and stayed the night with my friend Allison. Allison works at Virgina Tech. She gave us a tour of her campus (past all the gray buildings). We stopped at the memorial for those who died from the shooting there on campus. It was very pretty and one student puts letters and a flower on the stone when it is that persons birthday. I thought that was pretty cool. She told us of a great place to hike called Cascade Falls. The trail was kind of muddy, but it was a lot of fun and very pretty.

Curtains

I have a very talented mom. She made these curtains for her bedroom. She did an awesome job.

She had just enough material to make curtains for each of her windows. I love them.

Peaches

Mom and I ordered a bushel of peaches this week. We decided to bottle most of them. We froze a few and made a peach crisp out of the rest.
I believe in all we bottled about a 100 peaches.

First we scaled the peaches so we could remove the skin. I'll admit I love it when the skin came off in one piece. Mom got a good laugh out of me when they came off perfect.

What a mess, but it sure was a lot of fun!!!!

We could seal seven bottles at a time. They didn't tak as long as canning chicken did.

We ended up with about 14 jars each, plus what we froze, ones used for the peach crisp, and the few we kept out to eat. It was a lot of fun.

100,000 Miles

I've had my Toyota since 2003. Seven years later I hit 100,000 miles! I had to pull over to take the picture. I was so scared that I was going to miss it.

I love patterns on the odometer. I know I'm weird.100,ooo miles a new clutch, transmission, drive wheel axel and passenger side mirror. I've put that car through a lot.
